On the 6th day of Chukar…tips for decorating sugar cookies with dried fruits and nuts!

As we mentioned in an earlier post, decorating the old-fashioned way with dried fruits and nuts is both healthy and delicious. So today we’d like to show how easy-and beautiful-replacing sugary sprinkles with a mix like our Berry and Pistachio can be.

 

Chopped Berry and Pistachio MixIngredients:

Your favorite sugar cookie recipe

1 or 2 – 8oz. bag(s) Chukar’s Berry & Pistachio energy mix, finely chopped

Your favorite frosting (or 1 cup powdered sugar, 1/4 tspn. vanilla extract and 1 tbpsn. milk stirred together until smooth)

 

 

 

Variety 2: Berry and Pistachio Frosting

 Bake sugar cookies according to recipe, let cool. Prepare frosting according to recipe, then mix in finely chopped Berry and Pistachio mix:Frosting with B &P Frosting

 

 Frost cooled cookies with a butter knife or spoon. Let frosting set until firm, 10-15 minutes:

Variety 2: Berry and Pistachio Sugar Cookies

Mixing Berry &

Prepare sugar cookie batter as per your recipe, mixing in chopped Berry and Pistachio mix after all other ingredients are combined. (If you’re making cut-out cookies, add before refrigerating dough):Berry and Pistachio Cookie

Bake according to the recipe or until cookies are golden brown. Enjoy frosted or plain.

We love the Berry and Pistachio for its beautiful reds, greens and dark crimsons, but you can choose any mixture of fruits and nuts in the same way. Check back for tips on using fruits and nuts for sprinkles!
